Vithas Alicante Hospital is located in the city of Alicante, at the foot of the Santa Bárbara Castle, a short distance from the city centre.

It was founded on 2 January 1944, making it a pioneering hospital in the field of private medicine in Alicante.

Following its takeover by the Adeslas Insurance Company in 1997, a major refurbishment project was initiated to improve all its services​, including ​the creation of new operating theatres with the most advanced technology.

In 2012, the hospital became part of Vithas group, a leading private healthcare chain in Spain with centres all over the country, changing its name to Vithas Alicante.

It has an emergency unit operating 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, which integrates all available specialities and has emergency doctors, paediatricians, gynaecologists and midwives on hand 24/7.
